A month and a half in my new job

It's almost a mth and a half since I move to my new job.

So many things have happened.

For some reason, I was promoted to managerial role less than 2 weeks at work. Well, the change is only in title and there is not change to my package. Was this a good sign??

Of cus, if I look at the bright side, the title will give me more value for my next job and mayb a little more respect from customers (debatable). However, as a whole, it's not such a good move for me. Reasons?
1) Colleagues will not like this fact (esp those in the same team)
2) People will be weary of me, wondering if I've done something during my 1 week training at HW to get this position.
3) Management mayb hv higher expectation of me, but no change in my package.

Besides the sudden promotion in title, I am also the only CS whom report back to HQ. All other staff used to report to Singapore office (which we no longer has a branch manager) but was ask to report back to the HOD in HQ when we had our re-org early this year. Only CS dept has not officially being ask to report to HOD in HQ. Strange arrangement, sensitive issues.

And because of this, I am the first CS to report to CS HOD which in some ways, I seem to be like a spy to my boss. Becos of this, pple labelled me as a HQ spy, every negative thing that was known by HQ, it is deemed to be informed by me.

Pple management! Haiz, it's always difficult to handle. The perception is there and almost nothing can be done to change them. Moreover, I do feel tat I hv the obligation to inform my boss of the happening in Singapore.

Mayb you can say that I am sore eye, for I never like pple who do nothing and get paid. Hence, for those whom has not been doing their job, be prepared that I'll be informing that to my boss. Whether the management wanna do anything, tat's not within my control.

I am not trying to sabo any1. To me, the company pay me to work, and so I hv to offer my service. If any1 try to take advantage of the fact that there are no bosses in the ofc, n choose not to work, den similarly you hv to prepare that management will eventually find out.

I understand that every now and then, pple take some advantage of the co. Eg. late for work, leaving the ofc early. If 20% of your time is on personal stuff, I guess tat's the max I can accept. But I've colleagues whom I almost dun see them work. Everyday missing more than 6 hours from office. No new business, no updates on new prospects, no updates on existing customers, no agenda. Isn't this strange and too much to be acceptable?

I dunno how the Co see this. But to me, this is very bad for the morale. Other colleagues whom see this, will also lose the heart to fight for the Co.

This Co is doing quite badly. We hv not every make a profit, hence, it is impt for us to fight together to bring in more biz for more profit. Every bit of effort counts. If we still want to stay in this Co for long term, we need to stand up together and fight this battle. Individual concerns should b secondary.

Anyway, I am not sure of what lies in my future. I can only hope for the best. If the wrong person was put as the branch manaager, my guess is that I can prepare to find another job again.
